This super dark roasted varietal is powerful and pungent, yet incredibly smooth.
It is a high grown coffee roasted until the oil breaks on the dark surface. This Panama bean takes the heat incredibly well.
The first "Super Dark" I ever did as a roaster was in 1986. It was a Panama coffee like this. Being a newbie and all I was really excited by it's dark smooth carbonous taste. I could not stop drinking it. It was addictive. Hence our calling it Panama Red. And today Panama Red is still one of our favorites.
